Homemade Muesli

Here is a funny story. Rowena rang Julia to advise she had some excess oats and sultanas in her cupboard and was going to make muesli. She had just been shopping and purchased some apricots and pepitas to add to her muesli mix. At this point Julia laughed and told Rowena that her DD had a batch of muesli in the oven. They had just learned to make this in cooking class at school that day…

Orange Weet Bix Slice

When growing up, Julia remembers that Chocolate Weet Bix Slice was a very popular homemade treat.

Julia’s DD who is nearly 13 came home from school having made Orange Weet Bix Slice in cooking class.

Julia and her DD went through the recipe and made a few changes.

Here is their version.

Broccoli, Cauliflower and Chickpea Soup

Something that Rowena has been been working at lately is meeting the 2 fruit & 5 veg servings per day. It is not impossible but can be a bit hard. This is a good soup to bump up the vegie intake!

This is a really quick and easy soup to make mid week that also freezes well.

If you live in Sydney a big winter event is the City 2 Surf. This is a 14 kilometre fun run that has over 50,000 entrants. The course takes you from the Sydney CBD to beautiful Bondi Beach.

Sydney-siders love the City 2 Surf as it means winter is almost over.

Rowena is running in this year’s City 2 Surf!
