Orange Weet Bix Slice

When growing up, Julia remembers that Chocolate Weet Bix Slice was a very popular homemade treat.

Julia’s DD who is nearly 13 came home from school having made Orange Weet Bix Slice in cooking class.

Julia and her DD went through the recipe and made a few changes.

Here is their version.

Orange Weet Bix Slice


  • 4 Weet Bix crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups SR flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dessicated coconut
  • 125g butter, melted
  • zest and juice of 1 orange


Combine all ingredients together in a mixing bowl.

Press slice mixture into a slice pan lined with baking paper.

Bake at 180 deg C for approximately 25 – 30 mins or until lightly browned.

Allow to cool in tin for 5 mins and then ice with orange icing.

When slice is completely cool, remove from tin and cut into squares with a sharp knife.

Orange icing:

Combine 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, 2 tablespoons butter and zest and sufficient juice from 1 orange to form a spreading consistency.
