This is a really good alterative to a baked cake.
Miss 10 was turning 11 so I decided to make a cake. Miss 10 said ‘Aunty Row I don’t really like cake’ and I said ‘I bet you will like this one’!
This is really easy to make and looks very impressive.
Ingredients
- 2 litres of good quality vanilla ice cream
- 1 packet of oreo cookies
- Large squirt of chocolate topping
Extras
- Cling wrap
- Birthday candles
- Loaf tin or round tin
Method
- Remove ice cream from freezer to soften
- Select what cake tin you would like to use, double line with cling wrap leaving a large over hang (I used a loaf tin)
- Chop the oreo biscuits into chunks
- In a large bowl, scoop out softened ice cream and mix through the chopped biscuits
- Stir through some chocolate topping
- Scoop ice cream mix into the prepared tin and wrap the cling wrap over the top
- Freez for about 2 – 3 hours
- Remove from freezer about 5 mins prior to serving – unwrap the top cling wrap, turn out onto a serving plate and remove the tin and remaining cling wrap
- Put candles in and sing happy birthday
- Use a hot knife to slice cake and serve
Variations
- Use your imagination and use your favouriate combination of biscuits, toppings, lollies or chocolates.
