Mars Bar Slice

There are many versions of the old favourite Mars Bar Slice.

Super quick and easy to make, it is just the right time to enjoy it now as a school holiday treat.

Here is Julia’s version…

Mars Bar Slice


  • 4 Mars Bars
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups rice bubbles
  • 50 grams chocolate, melted to drizzle over slice


  • Melt butter and Mars Bars over a low heat until well combined
  • Add to rice bubbles and stir until combined – you need to work quickly!
  • Press mixture into a slice tin lined with baking paper
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate – Julia melts the chocolate in a small zip-loc bag in the microwave. Snip off a corner and this makes an easy way to drizzle the chocolate
  • Refrigerate until required
  • Cut into squares or bars and serve

Variation: use 4 cups of corn flakes for a crunchy change instead of rice bubbles
